Our Facility

This handsome brick and stucco Tudor residence built in 1927 sits on more than one acre of beautifully landscaped grounds with views of the Willamette River and Portland’s West Hills, only minutes from downtown and easily accessible from I-5, and within walking distance from the MAX Overlook stop.

   The home is two stories high with a multipurpose room. The main floor is 2,000 square feet with a living room, sunroom, office, dining area and kitchen. The house is air conditioned and a nonsmoking facility; perfect for all seasons.

      Inside, the charm of the original woodwork, beveled glass, tile fireplace, plentiful windows and access to a deck overlooking the grounds offer an intimate environment. The entire first floor of the home and gardens are accessible to all. The interior of the home is perfect for smaller gatherings with room for up to 75 depending on the nature on the event.

         The Garden. Mature trees and lovely perennials frame the garden providing a tranquil setting. The beauty of the rose covered trellis enhances the serene backyard creating a focal point for a romantic outdoor wedding and/or reception during the summer and early fall months.

Up to 75 people in the winter (November through April)
Up to 150 people in the Summer/Fall (May through October)

Music:

Amplified music must cease at 8:00 p.m. Outdoors and Indoors.

Functional, warm and cozy full kitchen with stove, refrigerator and dishwasher will accommodate all your needs for your upcoming event.

Furnishings

A limited amount of tables, chairs, and other equipment are included in the rental. Additional cleaning fees may apply for some equipment.

Tables and Chairs:

• (6) 6' rectangular tables
• (9) 60" round tables that seat eight

• (2) 40" round Card tables
• Dining Room table is 42"x72" with a 2' leaf if needed
• Formal chairs in living and sunroom

• (100) Clear glass dinner plates

• (70) White dinner plates
• (50) White Coffee cups and saucers

(Please note the Overlook House does not have any stemware - i.e water or wine glasses, etc.)

Silverware:

Coffee makers:

• A new 32 and 36 cup coffeemaker - no coffee filters are necessary
• A 12 cup coffeemaker - filters Are needed

(Please note coffee is NOT supplied by the Overlook House)

Punch Bowls:

• (3) Crystal punch bowls
• (150) Crystal cups and matching dishes with cup holders

Chocolate Fountain:

Renters are responsible for purchasing chocolate. Fountain must be used in the multi-purpose room only! The Overlook House charges a $25.00 cleaning fee.

Additional Cleaning Fees:

• Dishes, Flatware, Punch Bowls, and Cups = $100.00
• Chocolate Fountain = $25.00
• Cleaning of the Fireplace = $20.00

Only Firelogs are permitted for use. (To prevent a potential fire in the garbage bins, renters cannot take ashes from the fireplace the day/night of their event.)

Housekeeping Services Provided In Fee:

• All floors on both levels are swept, mopped and/or vacuumed.
• All surfaces throughout the house are wiped/cleaned.
• All mirrors, windows, and door glass is cleaned.
• All surfaces throughout the house are wiped/cleaned.
• Kitchen sink and counters washed.
• Stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, and coffee makers cleaned.
• Dishwasher emptied.
• Both bathrooms scrubbed and restocked.
• All trash receptacles to be cleaned and lined with new trash bags by the housekeeper.

(Please note it is still the responsibility of the renter to take all garbage out to the Overlook House's dumpster. Bottles, Cans, and Cardboard is to be taken to the same area for recycling.)

Services:

The Facility Events Coordinator and volunteers will help to make your event a pleasant experience whether your event is in our garden or inside the Overlook House.
• The house is an air conditioned, nonsmoking facility; perfect for all seasons.
• Alcohol allowed with specific regulation; proof of liability insurance required.
• Renter responsible for cleanup; custodial services available.
